சாளக்கிராமம் என்பது என்ன?
சாளக்கிராமம் என்பது கண்டகி நதியில் உருவாகும் ஒருவகையான அழகிய தெய்வீகம் நிறைந்த கல் ஆகும். இவை நத்தைக்கூடு, சங்கு முதலாய பல வடிவங்களில் பல வண்ணங்களில் கிடைக்கிறது. திருமால் தாமாகவே தங்கமயமான ஒளியுடன் திகழும் வஜ்ரகிரீடம் என்னும் பூச்சியின் வடிவெடுத்து, சாளக்கிராமத்தை குடைந்து, அதன் கர்ப்பத்தை அடைவார். அங்கு ரீங்கான வடிவில் இருந்து கொண்டே தன் முகத்தினால் பல விதமான சுருள் ரேகையுடன் கூடிய பல சக்கரங்களை வரைந்து பல்வேறு அவதாரங்களை விளையாட்டாக வரைந்து பின் மறைந்து விடுவதாக கூறுவர். இப்படிப்பட்ட வடிவங்கள்தான் வணங்கிட உகந்தவையாகும்.

It is said that Lord Vishnu enters the Stones taking the form of a Glowing golden worm called VajraGreedam and draw circular lines showing different Avatars of Lord.
