ஒரு கோவிலுக்குள் நான்கு திவ்ய தேசங்கள், கோவில் நகரமாம் காஞ்சியில். இத்தகைய சிறப்பு வாய்ந்தது உலகளந்த பெருமாள் கோவில். மூன்றடியில் உலகளந்தவனின் கோவில் ஆறடி நிலத்திலிருந்து இறங்கி இருக்கிறது.
உலகளந்த பெருமாள் கோவில் என்றாலும் உலகளந்த பெருமாள் திவ்ய தேச பெருமாள் அல்ல. இவ்வாலயத்தில் உள்ள திரு ஊரகத்தான், திரு நீரகத்தான், திரு காரகத்தான், திரு கார்வண்ணன் ஆகிய நால்வருமே திவ்ய தேச பெருமாள் ஆவர். இவர்களை திருமழிசை ஆழ்வார் மற்றும் திருமங்கையாழ்வார் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்துள்ளனர்.
இவ்வாலயத்தின் விமானம் சார ஸ்ரீகர விமானம் ஆகும். சேஷ தீர்த்தம்(நாக தீர்த்தம்) எனும் குளம் கோவிலின் வெளிப்புறத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது. அமிர்தவல்லி தாயார் தனி சன்னிதியில் அருள்கின்றார்.
நாக தோஷம், கால சர்ப்ப தோஷம்,ராகு தோஷம் போன்ற தோஷங்களுக்கு நிவர்த்தி ஸ்தலமாக விளங்குகிறது இவ்வாலயம்.

Four Dhivya Desa’s in one temple at Kanchipuram. Ulagalndha Perumal temple is that Special temple. The one who measured the whole world in Three Feet’s temple is down from the land level by 6 Feet.
Though the temple is Ulagalndha Perumal temple, Ulagalndha Perumal is not the Dhivya desa Deity. Thiru Ooragaththan, Thiru Neeragaththan, Thirukkaragaththan, Thirukkarvannan are the four Dhivya desa Deities who are sung by Thirumazhisai Azhwar & Thirumangai Azhwar.
The temple has Sara Srikara Vimanam. Sesha Theertham (Naga Theertham) lies outside the temple. Amirthavalli Thayar blesses us in a separate Sannidhi.
This temple serves as Dhosa Nivarthi sthalam for Naga Dhosam, Kalasarpa Dhosam, Ragu Dhosam, etc.
