Muthangi for God and goddess is a dress made like Kavasam. Muthangi is Tamil word, muthu in English is pearl and Angi in English is top dress. Kings olden days used Angi as their dress.

Muthangi is a ready made ornament made on paper pulp with cloth fixed and decorated with Stones, Pearls, zari, etc. Muthangi cloth color and type is left to our requirement. A single Muthangi dress can have multiple color option also. Then over the Muthangi cloth, pearls, precious stones and zari in different color and sizes are stitched as per the design requirement.

Muthangi dress will come for years, if maintained away from water. Normally Muthangi dresses are put on during special occasions in temples.

Muthangi cost goes by the height of the deity. Muthangi gives very grand look than metal Kavasam because of the color options. Muthangi also cost less than Kavasam .
