Deepam aarthi is one of the auspicious ways offering our prayer to god. There are many varieties deepam and step deepam is one in that series. Deepam is one which goes up while many in world comes down. Arthi Step deepam is also called aaduku deepam in tamil. There are 3 Step deepam, 5 Step deepam, 7 Step deepam, all these 3 varieties step deepam are generally available. 9 Step deepam & 11 Step deepam are made to order.

In Step deepam the handle & central rod are brass moulded. The plated are of brass sheets. In 3 Step deepam, the first plate has 5 depths (Kuzi), the second plate has 9 and the 3^rd plate 12. Thus there will be 27 depths including the one on the top. In 5 Step deepam there will be 39 depths and in 7 Arthi Step deepam there will be 67 depths.
